Florist Tips
1. When putting flowers into a vase, remember
to cut off all leaves that will be below the water line. Leaves submerged
in water can rot, introducing bacteria to the water and shortening your
flower life.
2. When cutting flowers, cut the stems under
water. If you cut them in the open air, an air bubble can form in the
flower preventing it from taking in water. Cut the stem at an angle to
give the flower more area to absorb water.
3. Keep your flowers out of direct sunlight or
heat to prevent loss of moisture.
4. Before visiting a florist for wedding
flowers, be sure to come up with a budget. Decide what kind of flowers you
want and where you will use them. Bring pictured from magazines with you
to help communicate to your florist what you want.
5. Will you be sending someone a flower
bouquet this holiday? Order your flowers early from your florist to be sure that you can get
the wanted delivery date.
6. Be sure to include the flower food that
your florist gives you into your vase. Mix it properly and it will add
days to your flower life. |
