Bird of Paradise

The Bird of Paradise is a
perennial plant native to South Africa. The name comes from the flowers
resemblance to a birds beak and plumage. The official name of the genus,
Strelitzia, comes the birthplace of Queen Charlotte of the United Kingdom
who was born in Mecklenburg-Strelitz. There are five species of the Bird
of Paradise and it can reach up to around five feet in height and about 2
or 3 feet in width.
