Hibiscus

There are over 200 species of
Hibiscus. They produce flowers that are large and trumpet shaped with 5
petals. Colors can include red, yellow, pink and purple. Each petal can be
between 4 and 15 centimeters. Because of their large flowers, Hibiscus are
often used as shrubs in landscaping.
Hibiscus have many uses. One
variety is used to make paper while another is a popular vegetable and an
ingredient in jams and teas. Yet another variety of Hibiscus is used as a
treatment for nausea and high blood pressure.
